Moissons Nouvelles

Moissons Nouvelles

The Specialised Prevention Service Moselle-Est in Freming-Merlebach (Grand Est region) is involved in prevention and socio-educational activities in four municipalities in the Moselle.

On a daily basis, the educators or street workers go out to meet young people aged between 10 and 21 years old, to try to help those who are socially and/or family-oriented, who find themselves in difficulty, isolated or on the margins, towards a more normalised life path: going to school, finding work, becoming a citizen. They support around 230 young people and 70 families.

The specialised service is part of the national association Moissons Nouvelles, which is present throughout France.

In addition, Moissons Nouvelles is a member of the CNLAPS (French Network for Actors in Specialised Prevention) which is itself a member of the YES Forum.

YES Forum

YES Forum

Founded in 2002, the YES Forum is a European network of 35 organisations in 18 European countries working with and for young people with fewer opportunities. Together we act to improve the life chances of vulnerable young people by: promoting their personal and professional development in society; supporting their active citizenship initiatives; and by promoting inclusive youth policy at local, regional and national levels across Europe. In fostering transnational activities, we are a European forum for sharing good practice in youth and social work, and for giving voice to young people’s ideas. Collectively, the network reaches over 650.000 youths across Europe.

To meet these goals the YES Forum organises projects, trainings, seminars and conferences that provide space for exchange of information and critical thinking in the field of youth. In our activities we connect young people, especially those who otherwise would not have had the possibility or motivation to meet other cultures. As we work WITH young people, rather than doing something for them, we encourage young people become active citizens and foster their participation in the decision-making processes. We furthermore offer training and exchange of best practice for practitioners working with young people.
